# Siteon vs. the hosting in AI site builders (v0, Bolt, Lovable)

AI site builders can publish what they generate, but keeping a site on your own domain usually means staying on the builder's paid plan, about $18 to $25 a month for Bolt Pro or Lovable Pro billed yearly, while v0 publishes through Vercel, which is billed separately (official prices checked 2026-10-04). Siteon separates building from running: build with any AI tool, then host the static output with forms and owner editing from $4/month per site, so the builder subscription can end when the building does. Stay on the builder's hosting if the app needs its database, server functions or built-in AI features, which Siteon does not run.

## Two ways to keep a generated site running

| | Stay on the builder | Build there, run on Siteon |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly cost after the site is finished | The builder's plan (about $18 to $25 billed yearly for a custom domain) | $4 per site ($12 with AI translation) |
| Changing the design | Prompt the builder again | Change the code with any AI tool and deploy |
| Text and photo updates by the owner | Depends on the builder | Dashboard, only for the areas you mark |
| Contact form with auto-reply and Slack | Build it yourself | Included |
| Database, login, server functions | Available | Not available |

## Where the builder's hosting is the better choice

- **Apps, not just sites.** If the project uses the builder's database, login, server functions or AI features, keep it where those run. Siteon hosts static files only
- **Iterating by prompt.** If you keep reshaping the site with the builder, publishing from the same place is the shortest loop
- **Your own domain today.** Bolt Pro and Lovable Pro take a custom domain now; on Siteon hosting it is (coming soon)

## Where Siteon fits better

- The site is a brochure, a shop page or a landing page: once it's built, it mostly needs updates and inquiries
- You want to stop paying for a generation tool once the site is finished
- The business owner should update text and photos without access to the code or the builder
- You build sites for clients and want the same backbone for every project, whichever AI tool made it

Siteon is infrastructure for AI-built websites: it adds hosting, a CMS your client can edit, contact forms, analytics and control from AI agents (CLI and MCP) around static HTML built with AI or by hand, so it is ready to ship.
